The School of Biomedical Engineering at ShanghaiTech University focuses on cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields in biomedical engineering and is committed to building a world-class comprehensive academic journal. The journal covers areas including medical imaging and diagnostic technologies, biomaterials, synthetic biology and tissue engineering, organoids and regenerative medicine, sensory biology, neural engineering and brain-computer interfaces, wearable and implantable medical devices, medical artificial intelligence, precision medicine and translational engineering, intelligent healthcare systems, digital health and telemedicine, among others.
To ensure the journal’s high-standard development, efficient operation, and high-quality growth, we are now openly recruiting one journal editor from China and abroad. Job Responsibilities
1. Be responsible for the full-process management of journal manuscripts, including initial manuscript screening, coordination with external reviewers, follow-up on revision comments, and final quality control. Strictly ensure the academic standards, innovation, and publication compliance of manuscripts, and support an efficient, standardized, and smooth peer-review process;
2. Plan frontier academic topics, organize special issues, and invite authoritative experts to contribute manuscripts. Closely follow developments in the field, proactively identify high-quality global manuscript sources, and establish and maintain a high-level network of authors and peer reviewers;
3. Undertake English editing, language polishing, format proofreading, and layout review of manuscripts to ensure that the language is accurate and fluent, the logic is rigorous and clear, and the format fully meets the publishing standards of top international academic journals;
4. Assist in the journal’s international publicity and promotion, academic conference organization, online academic exchanges, and other activities. Participate in international cooperation negotiations and applications for inclusion in major indexing databases, comprehensively enhancing the journal’s international influence and academic voice;
5. Support the editorial board in daily operational management, strictly implement academic publishing ethics, and firmly safeguard the journal’s academic reputation and credibility.
Qualifications
1. Educational background: Candidates should have a background in biomedical engineering, life sciences, basic medicine, materials science and engineering, computer science, neuroscience, electronic information, or related fields. Applicants with a doctoral degree, overseas study experience at a well-known university, or research/work experience are preferred;
2. Professional competence: Candidates should have strong expertise in biomedical engineering-related fields, an accurate understanding of frontier trends and research hotspots, and keen academic judgment. Candidates should also possess excellent English reading, writing, editing, and polishing skills, and be able to independently complete the full editorial review process for English manuscripts;
3. Work experience: Prior experience in editing English-language academic journals, scientific publishing, or academic services is preferred. Familiarity with international academic publishing processes, manuscript submission and peer-review systems, and industry standards is preferred;
4. Comprehensive qualities: Candidates should be passionate about academic publishing, rigorous and meticulous in work, highly responsible, and possess excellent cross-cultural communication and coordination skills, teamwork spirit, and efficient execution ability. Proficiency in office software and professional academic publishing tools is required;
5. Professional ethics: Candidates should strictly uphold academic integrity and publishing ethics, adhere to objective, fair, and rigorous editorial principles, and demonstrate strong service awareness and professional conduct.
