Chunyan Liang Appointed Assistant Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering

On the afternoon of March 24, the School of Biomedical Engineering at ShanghaiTech University held a ceremony in Conference Room 103 of the school building to announce the appointment of school leadership, officially appointing Chunyan Liang as Assistant Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering. Jingyi Yu, Vice President and Vice Provost of ShanghaiTech University; Dinggang Shen, founding dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering; and all members of the school’s leadership, faculty, and staff attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Yu Zhou, Director of Human Resources at ShanghaiTech University.


At the ceremony, Jingyi Yu formally announced the appointment decision on behalf of the university and extended congratulations to Chunyan Liang.

Newly appointed Assistant Dean Chunyan Liang delivered her remarks. She expressed sincere gratitude for the trust and recognition from the university and the school, and noted that she fully understands the responsibility and mission of the position. Reflecting on her nearly 11 years of work at ShanghaiTech and her experience participating in the development of the School of Biomedical Engineering from scratch, she solemnly stated that she will uphold professional principles, strengthen the administrative team, closely support the school leadership in coordinating various tasks, and make every effort to promote the school’s development, living up to everyone’s trust and expectations.

Dinggang Shen warmly welcomed Chunyan Liang’s appointment on behalf of the school and highly recognized her key contributions to the school’s development. He noted that the school has achieved remarkable results in the five years since its establishment and will soon reach an important milestone this year with its international evaluation. He expressed hope that Liang will continue to leverage her strengths, fulfill her duties, and contribute further to the school’s future development and the advancement of key initiatives in her new role.

In her remarks, Yu Zhou said that Chunyan Liang has been a core administrative force in the development of the School of Biomedical Engineering and has made tremendous efforts in its construction. She expressed pride and delight in Liang’s growth and the school’s development, and said she believes that with the collective efforts of all members of the school, the School of Biomedical Engineering will surely embrace even better development.


Finally, Jingyi Yu delivered concluding remarks, congratulating Chunyan Liang on her new appointment and highly recognizing her dedication, practical contributions, and outstanding achievements in the school’s development. He expressed hope that she will continue to leverage her strengths and make meaningful contributions in her new position. He also encouraged the School of Biomedical Engineering to further deepen collaboration with sister schools and institutes, work together to tackle key challenges, and promote innovative breakthroughs. At the same time, he called on all faculty and staff to unite their efforts and take proactive action to jointly advance the development of the school and the university to a new level.
