Dr. You Yu is an Assistant Professor and Director of Smart medical analysis and Soft bioelectronics Lab in the School of Biomedical Engineering at ShanghaiTech University. Dr. Yu earned his Ph.D. degree at 2017 in analytical chemistry at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After that, he worked as a postdoctoral scholar research associate in the department of medical engineering at California institute of technology (Caltech) from 2017 to 2022.
Dr. Yu’s research is concentrated on the development and application of soft bioelectronics and medical robotics. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles with over 1000 citations in 5 years, including 8 first-author papers of top-level, such as Sci. Robotic. (2), Adv. Mater., Nanoscale, IEEE JSSC. Four publications were cited over 100 times in just one year, and all of them are hot paper (top 0.1%) in Web of Science. He has 1 book chapter and 2 applied US Patents as well. Dr. Yu serves as topic editor of 2 international journals.

The You Group (Smart Medical Analysis and Soft Bioelectronics Lab) in the school of Biomedical Engineering at the ShanghaiTech University is a highly interdisciplinary research team devoted to developing soft bioelectronics for fundamental and applied biomedical fields. Our research thrusts include fundamental materials, biochemistry innovations, and system level integration toward personalized and precision medicine. The group create and apply innovative devices to understand complex biological systems, and medical robotics with healthcare and customized therapy.
Our team is working on the following research projects: Wearable biosensors, Implantable bioelectronics, Smart medical robotics, Soft bioelectronics for human-machine interface.
We are looking for graduate students, postdoc, research assistant, technician, and staff scientist to join us.
