Dr. Zhihua Ren is an Assistant Professor and leading the Biomedical Imaging and Instrumentation Laboratory – Bio-Med I2 Lab in the School of Biomedical Engineering at ShanghaiTech University. Dr. Ren earned his Ph.D. from Singapore University of Technology and Design in 2020. He was a visiting scholar at Columbia University in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. John Thomas Vaughan. After his Ph.D., he went back to Columbia University as a postdoctoral research scientist, and primarily worked on the design and development of the world’s first dual-head AD/DC phased array to study the interacting two human brains. His research interests include MRI physics and instrumentation, and other EM-related biomedical devices & applications.
